Minister of Public Utilities and Aviation, Hon. Deodat Indar, and Parliamentary Secretary, Hon. Thandi McAllister, earlier today met with the president of the Shipping Association of Guyana (SAG), Mr. Komal Singh, and SAG leaders to discuss the ongoing development of the maritime sector.

The Minister noted his ministry is allocated $6.3 billion for dredging works. He also mentioned that the Administration is working to establish a maritime port authority, in keeping with a commitment of President Dr. Irfaan Ali to transform Guyana into a maritime hub.

Minister Indar also committed to re-establishing a tripartite committee to enhance coordination among maritime operators.
